From April until June 2017, I taught the course Public International Law at PPLE College at the University of Amsterdam, together with my colleagues prof. dr. Yvonne Donders and dr. Marta Bo.

The 8th and 9th of June 2017, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and RHEA organized the 2nd Academic Seminar of MAP-FGM at Hotel Bloom in Brussels entitled Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) at the intersection of qualitative, quantitative and mixed method research – Experiences from Africa and Europe.

From the 24th of March until the 2nd of April 2017, I was in Senegal for an assignment for Save the Children. I organized a workshop on the different approaches towards ending Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting for local implementing partners of the Regional Office of Save the Children. Four implementing partners from four different countries (Senegal, the Gambia, Mali and Guinea) were invited. This workshop was the kick-off of a larger assignment.

From January until April 2017, I taught the course Public International Law (in Dutch) at the University of Amsterdam. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. The students were absolutely amazing and I feel a little bit sad that the course has almost come to an end. I only need to mark 50 of the 400 exams next week, and then it’s done…

From February until March 2017, I taught the course ‘Critical Thinking’ (in Dutch: Kritisch Denken) at the AVANS Hogeschool in Den Bosch. Together with Loes Hoefnagels, a lecturer working at the AVANS Den Bosch, we developed this course.
